Sergio Rossi Men’s Fall/Winter 2011-12

Innovating while respecting tradition.

The Sergio Rossi man discovers his bolder side through timeless elegance and a new contemporary dynamism. For Fall/Winter 2011-12 Sergio Rossi’s Creative Director, Francesco Russo, gives classic men’s footwear an innovative twist by introducing dichotomous aesthetic influences delicately combining contrasting styles, materials and finishes. Dress shoes get a powerful new look when paired up with techno wear.

Leather Oxfords closed with hooks borrowed from trekking gear, have an unusual rubber quarter stiffener. Substantial silhouettes slightly seventies with rounded toes in a sophisticated colour palette that combines classic nuances of dark brown with intense splashes of zinc, burgundy, and bottle green. Quintessentially urban rubber is paired up with fine leathers to create new driving shoes in subtle two-tone variations with shearling linings Classic suede booties new with hand-stitched toecaps.

The Sergio Rossi man knows how to be daringly tasteful: he can casually wear new gold-coated calfskin moccasins, or Oxfords with camouflage-printed pony inserts. Casual wear becomes fertile terrain for experimentation: practical high-top boots with a warm shearling inserts and new, grooved soles cushion impact; “Canadian” boots break the rules by combining a laced-up instep with an elegant tone-on-tone suede upper. Evening wear is radically chic focusing on two sleek styles: the ankle boot and the tuxedo slipper, both in black pony.

As always, Italian artisan craftsmanship reigns over the Fall/Winter 2011-12 collection assembled according to formal dress codes defined by the structural details of hand-sewn seams or the use of traditional Blake shoe-making methods.
