SERGIO ROSSI PRESENTS THE FALL-WINTER 2014/15 COLLECTION: “POETIC SURREALISM”
Sergio Rossi’s Fall-Winter 2014/15 collection tells a contemporary fairytale, a journey through a dreamlike parallel dimension where shoes, like imaginary creatures, reveal their poetic, surreal souls.
Collections and Design Director Angelo Ruggeri has chosen to speak of the complexity of the female form through a filter, a mask with sinuous lines that becomes a decorative element on a black suede sandal with gold edging in the perfect synthesis of his romantic and surreal vision.
The woman chooses symbols from nature to describe and reveal herself in a game of contrasts and illusions expressed through the purity of the shapes, traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail that have always been the brand’s distinctive codes.
Light suede and velvet petals appear on the sandals with interiors in contrasting tones which, superimposed, catch the light with incredible three-dimensional effects. The Flower represents the most sincere sensuality but also nature in its material essence.
The icon of Sergio Rossi’s aesthetics, the Mermaid, emanates beguiling femininity in sculptured sandals with graded sequins embroidered on tulle that evoke the gold and silver metallic reflections of the scales of this fascinating mythological creature. The lightness and natural tendency for transformation that is the woman is told through the Butterfly, its wings resting gently on the feet with a glittering paving of graded crystals, while Flames lend their manifold coils to a fairy-tale reinterpretation of the camperos boot in an over-the-knee stretch version.
The chromatic palette combines absolute tones such as intense black with the suffused luminosity of nude, or blends new blacks with the sophisticated shades of nature such as dark rubin, bohemian red and aster blue.
Sergio Rossi describes a fantastical world, a timeless reality in which femininity bursts forth in all its forms, with shapes, details and tones that are the stuff that dreams are made of.
